Grand Democratic Alliance

Letter June 06, 2018
the GDA's purpose of defeating the PPP in Sindh is a far-fetched presumption that might never turn into reality

HYDERABAD: Former PPP stalwarts Fehmida Mirza and her husband, Zulfiqar Mirza, have joined the Sindh Muslim League-F-led Grand Democratic Alliance. Both Fehmida and her husband held important positions — the speaker of the Sindh Assembly and the provincial home minister, respectively, in PPP’s previous Sindh government’s.

However, with the PPP-MQM episodic relationship, Zulfiqar Mirza’s relationship with Bilawal and Zardari-led PPP changed rapidly. However, despite all odds, the Grand Democratic Alliance’s purpose of defeating the PPP in Sindh is a far-fetched presumption that might never turn into reality, given the PPP’s strong foothold in some of Sindh’s most important constituencies.
