Trafficking Trials: FIA arrests man on smuggling charges

FIA has arrested Saleem on charges of human trafficking and are investigating the matter further.

FAISALABAD: FIA has arrested a man on charges of smuggling people out of the country. Imtiaz of Tandlianwala, in his application to the FIA said that Mehboob Saleem had received Rs125,000 from him for sending him abroad to work. Imtiaz said that Saleem had cheated him out of his money and had fled the district. FIA has arrested Saleem on charges of human trafficking and are investigating the matter further. FIA officials said that there was evidence that Saleem had been implicated on multiple human trafficking violations over a period of ten years. Saleem had allegedly stolen over Rs800,000 from various clients over the past decade. FIA officials said that they had discovered records that implicated him of having sent people to the UK, USA, Egypt and Libya.
