Double Jeopardy: Couple threatened by cops and family

KHUSHAB: A girl’s family threatened her life after she married a man of her choosing. The couple has appealed to the chief minister to provide them with protection. Dhaak village resident Khawar Abbas wed Noreen last year against their family’s wishes. The couple went into hiding but a few days ago the girl’s brother and uncle located her and opened fire on Noreen. Khawar was getting medicine for his wife when Shahpur police constable Hayat abducted him and he opened fire on the man injuring him. Police officials allegedly threatened Khawar’s life and are searching for him. The couple has approached the district office for help.
