Eid likely to fall on June 16

The meteorological department has said that there are high chances that Eidul Fitr will fall on June 16.

Talking to The Express Tribune, a Met office official said that as per scientific calculations there are slim chances of Shawwaal moon to be sighted on the evening of June 14.

Therefore, there is a high chance that the Holy month of Ramazan will comprise of 30 days and Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on June 16, all across Pakistan.


In case, the estimation is not accurate, then Eidul Fitr might be celebrated on Friday, June 15.

The Climate Data Processing Centre of Pakistan Meteorological Department will share details of Shawwaal moon sighting on its official website on Monday, June 4.
