Save Margallas: Protest against wildfires

Protests against against repeatedly erupted fires in the Margalla Hills National Park at National Press Club

ISLAMABAD: The civil society of the federal capital staged a protest in front of the National Press Club to raise voice against the repeatedly erupted fire and severe violation of the national park guidelines in the Margalla Hills National Park Saturday afternoon.

The protestors shouted slogans against the city management and the Mayor who has been ignorant to all such environmental disasters in the federal capital.

The slogans included ‘hosh mein aao Mayor’ (wake up Mayor), aag bhujao Margalla bachao and other slogans of the similar meanings.

Speaking on the occasion, Devcom-Pakistan Director Munir Ahmed said the increasing deterioration of Margalla Hills National Park is the constitutional violation which is being done by the mafias in connivance of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation of (IMC).
