Threat of nuclear conflicts

Very few knew that over time, nuclear technology would evolve as a major war deterrent

MULTAN: Twenty years ago, Pakistan became a nuclear power. Back then, nuclear weapons proved to be more than necessary for Pakistan to avert the threat from India.

Very few knew that over time, nuclear technology would evolve as a major war deterrent that would rather make states avoid an escalated conflict situation given the level of catastrophic consequences that can result if nuclear powers decide to go to war and bomb one another.

As important as it might be for states to become nuclear powers, it certainly does not lessen the threat of a war with another country. Let’s not forget that trade wars and wars fought over water and other resources have little to do with weapons and are equally destructive enough to kill millions.
