Embezzlement: Ex-MPA, two cops charged

The accused are charged of embezzling ransom amount of Rs1.1 million in an abduction case.

SARGODHA: The anti corruption police on Thursday registered a case against a former MPA, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and an inspector in charges of embezzling ransom amount in an abduction case. On the directions of the anti corruption director, circle officer Ikramullah Niazi was appointed as the inquiry officer for the case. Police said that during the investigation of an abduction case, it was revealed that former MPA Chaudhry Rizwan Gill, DSP Khalid Iqbal and Inspector Atta Shaheed had embezzled Rs1.1 million ransom money. The amount was later recovered from the accused.
