Sindh Assembly, Cabinet tenure ends at 12am today

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly's Constitutional tenure has come to an end today (Monday) and the chief minister’s 27-member cabinet will seize to exist after 12am. This is the third consecutive Sindh Assembly to complete its tenure, as the previous two assemblies also completed their tenures.

Many provincial ministers have already vacated their offices while some will empty their offices today. The ministers who have already vacated their offices are Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, Manzoor Wassan, Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and Culture Minister Sardar Ali Shah.

The cabinet members who will be vacating their offices today include Dr Sikandar Shoro, Shamim Mumtaz, Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani, Fayyaz Butt, Mukesh Kumar Chawala and Imdad Pitafi.

Parliamentarians desert assembly day after full house

The cabinet members will attend today's last session and then will attend an iftar dinner being hosted by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who will keep holding the post till an interim chief minister takes charge.

During the last assembly session today, members will be briefed on progress and activity in all ministries by the respective ministers during the last five years. At the end of the session, the members will take part in a photo session.

Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani has also instructed all the members to attend the farewell session.
