Six suspected terrorists killed in CTD operation

Officials also recovered two suicide jackets, one kalashnikov, one hand grenade and other explosive materials

At least six suspected militants were killed in an operation conducted by the counter terrorism department late on Saturday night near the Chenab Bridge in Gujrat.

According to Express News, the law enforcement agencies conducted the operation on a tip-off.

The terrorists opened fire upon seeing the approaching CTD officials.

Six terrorists were killed owing in the fire exchange that lasted an hour. While three terrorists managed to escape. A search operation for the arrest of the absconders is underway.

According to the CTD sources, the terrorists who were killed during the operation were identified as Sohaib, Abdul Muqeem, Faisal, Usman, Abdul Azeem and Rauf.

The police also recovered two suicide jackets, one kalashnikov, one hand grenade and other explosive materials.

Officials stated that Sohaib, who was killed in the encounter, was involved in Lahore blasts.

Earlier this month, The CTD also made a breakthrough in the case of the targeted killing of a Chinese national in Karachi, earlier this year, by arresting two suspects.

The CTD maintained that the killing was not a terrorist act. Instead, it was the result of a business dispute.
