PAKPATTAN: At least two women were abducted in Pakpattan on Friday.

In the first incident, IAR*, a resident of Chak Jhaghan Kend Lal, was travelling with his 15-year-old daughter when accused Amir and his two accomplices abducted the girl and escaped from the spot.

Similarly, a farmer of Chak No 345-EB, was on his way to bazaar for shopping with his wife K* when accused Jalal, Iqbal and Bilal abducted the woman. The police have registered separate cases and started investigation.

Eight women abducted in Faisalabad

Meanwhile, two people tried to commit suicide in different parts of the city. The police said that Waqas tried to commit suicide by hitting his head against a wall after his parents refused to allow his wedding to a girl of his choice.

In another attempt, Sobia Bibi consumed poisonous pills after an argument with her husband Muhammad Aslam over a family dispute. She was rushed to DHQ Hospital Pakpattan for treatment.

Also, the city police arrested six gamblers and seized playing cards and stake money worth Rs12,000 from them. A case had been registered against the accused.
