Attack on police van leaves one person dead

Bomb dispos­al squad says it was a time-bomb.

NOWSHERA: A passer-by was killed while two children and a policeman received serious injuries in a roadside bombing in Nowshera district on Thursday.

The bomb went off when a police van was on patrol on GT Road near Jehangir square.

The bomb disposal squad said that a time device was attached to the bomb for explosion.

Police sources said that the bomb had been planted to target the police van.

The injured were shifted to DHQ hospital and police have started a search operation in the area.
