Man gunned down over parking issue in Islamabad

Three killed in violent clashes in Khanna area within two days

ISLAMABAD:
A motorist was gunned down allegedly by a shopkeeper over a dispute arising out of car parking near Khanna Pul in Sadiqbad police area on Thursday.

Officials said Altaf Hussain, 35, stopped at a mosque for Asr prayers and parked his car near the mosque. However, a shopkeeper objected to the car being parked in front of the shop and the ensuing altercation led to Hussain being shot dead on the spot.

Rescue officials said when they reached the spot, the victim was already dead. The victim was a resident of Kotha Kalan neighbouthood of the garrison city.

This was the third homicide case reported from the area in less than 48 hours. Earlier on Wednesday Khanna police recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy, Zeeshan, who had been allegedly kidnapped in Sadiqbad area but murdered and dumped in a well near Dhok Kala Khan in Khanna police jurisdiction.

Prayer leader shot dead in broad daylight


A kidnapping case had been registered at Sadiqabad police station when the teenager had gone missing a few days ago. There were conflicting reports whether he was killed for ransom or was killed by one of his teenage friends after the two fought over some issue.

Khanna police said they had arrested the suspect who had confessed to stabbing Zeeshan to death and dumping his body in a well.

Also on Wednesday evening, a man was killed while four others were injured in a clash between two groups in Bilal Town in Khanna police remits.

Police said a fight among kids led to exchange of fire between the two groups. The deceased was identified as Rashid Khan. Khanna police have arrested two of the suspects and booked them for murder and rioting.
