On May 3 2018, the eternal elixir of the East, Rooh Afza, released its Ramazan television commercial. The TVC tracks the emergence of a local brand that is now available in 33 countries. It makes the Pakistani audience realise that the brand not only fills us with pride but also has become an intrinsic part of our culture.
Interestingly, the TVC uses a global backdrop to highlight the wide-ranging appeal of this beverage. You follow the trail of sweetness left by Rooh Afza through beautiful shots of the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Blue Mosque in Turkey and the Times Square in New York.
Although a large part of the TVC delineates how Rooh Afza is spreading the essence of Ramazan around the world through the messages of forgiveness, friendship and tolerance, it ends with a very impactful insight. A flashback to March 23, 2018 when Rooh Afza became the first Pakistani brand to launch its advertisement at NASDAQ building confirms that the brand has become the official ambassador of our culture.
This commercial has been directed and produced by RAM Films. The concept was conceived at Rg-blue Communications, an advertising agency that is making its mark by creating brilliant commercials. It was released on social media and screened cinemas before feature presentations (including Nueplex cinema).
