PM Abbasi launches triple hundred programme in the federal capital

The federal government on Monday launched a new curriculum and textbooks to promote quality education, Radio Pakistan reported.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the chief guest at the ceremony, launched the 100/100/100 educational programme aimed at one hundred percent enrolment, one hundred percent retention and one hundred percent graduation.

In his speech, the premier lauded the Ministry of Education for implementing the new curriculum in the federal capital from grade one to five. He added that the revised curriculum for higher secondary will be introduced in the next phase of the programme.

“The latest curriculum will prove to be an important milestone towards shifting the focus from cramming to promoting analytical skills and generating thought process amongst the students,” said PM Abbasi.

The premier stated that Islamabad Capital Territory “will be made a model for the provinces in the education sector and the process of updating and revising the curriculum will continue.”

Stressing the importance of education, he said that a nation cannot make progress without a literate population.
