GUJRANWALA: A video of a man beating his servant with a stick, who is suspended by his feet and is hanging upside down, made the rounds on the internet.

In the video, a copy of which is available with Express News, the victim Amjad hangs upside down suspended by his feet while another person grasps the rope that is holding him up.

Meanwhile, the accused, an influential person in the area name Rana Shafeeq, beats the upside down man with a stick repeatedly.

At first, SHO Azeem Kahloon stated that no man had come forward to register a complaint in regards to the incident, reported Express News.

Two held for beating woman on road

However, after footage of the incident started circulating online and in media, police arrested Shafeeq and registered a case against him and his uncle.

Allegedly, Shafeeq is related to Rana Nazeer, a politician who recently joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). Amjad had been working at Shafeeq’s campsite for the past eight months, where he used to feed the animals.

The incident took place at the campsite which is located in a village in Nowshera Virka tehsil.

On March 19, three college students were stripped naked and tortured after being abducted by influential of the area in Gujrat’s Rehmania neighbourhood.

The victims were subjected to humiliation after being made a murgha – a punishment in which a person takes a position resembling that of a rooster, by squatting and then looping the arms behind the knees and firmly holding the ears.The accused also videotaped the entire incident.

The students, identified as Hasnain, Zain and Usama, were abducted after a scuffle broke out between two rival groups at their college.
