A video on social media has gone viral showing Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Khurram Nawaz Gandapur shouting at female students at a hostel in Lahore on Friday.

Gandapur reportedly started shouting at the students of the Minhaj University, when they protested against lack of arrangements for Iftar at the Minhaj-ul-Quran hostel.

In the video, he is heard threatening and scolding the students.

However, a spokesman for PAT has denied the allegations, saying that the claims of no arrangements for Iftar are not true. He also said that students were rebuked for indiscipline.

The PAT spokesman went on to say that Gandapur was only having a disciplinary talk as a ‘guardian’ with the girls, who, he added wanted to go outside of the hostel for Iftar which is prohibited by the hostel administration.

In the video clip, Gandapur can be seen scolding the students and heard shouting “shut up” many times. “So far I have been lenient with you,” said the PAT leader implying that he could get harsher with them.

Muhammad | 5 years ago | Reply The uploaded video here only confirms that it is definitely a disciplinary talk coming from an elderly father figure. If there's supposed to be no more content in the video, then it was not 'threatening' as the report says, but only justified scolding of the students presumably caused by the mismanagement.
