TDPC to provide tourists with special discount on entry tickets at Lahore Zoo
LAHORE:
Lahore Zoo and Lahore Safari Park will be included in entertainment packages managed by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), said Punjab Wildlife and Parks Director General Khalid Ayaz Khan.
A memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed soon, after which TDPC will provide tourists with a special discount on entry tickets, he informed during a meeting.
In addition to the special discounts, the newly added spots will also be counted as art of existing packages offered by TDPC, he added. Lahore Zoo will become part of tourism packages in the first phase, he maintained.
Lahore Zoo Director Hasan Ali Sukhera and Punjab Wildlife and Parks Deputy Director (Publicity) Amir Masood were also present during the meeting, where it was decided to include Lahore Zoo and Lahore Safari Park as designated tourist designations.
Earlier in November, in order to promote “desert tourism” in the province, TDCP initiated the process to develop an international standard tourist resort in Cholistan.
The need of an international standard tourist resort is becoming a matter of concern thanks to the success of the Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally. The race has become an international event, attracting tourists and motorsport lovers from different areas of Pakistan and abroad, maintained TDCP Managing Director Ahmer Mallick.
The prime objective of the project is to promote the area and to motivate tourists to visit Cholistan.
