PESHAWAR: Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) parliamentarians and elders on Monday said that tribal people have suffered a lot and demanded that the authorities must address genuine grievances of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM).

A delegation of tribal parliamentarians and elders met Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at the K-P Governor House and urged them to find the solution in accordance with the Constitution.

K-P Chief Secretary Azam Khan, Inspector General Police Salahuddin Khan Mehsud, ACS Fata and Commissioner Peshawar were also present on the occasion.

The delegation members lauded the armed forces’ role and sacrifices for restoring peace in Fata and urged the authorities to find the solution through the tribal jirga.

The chief minister and the governor appreciated the role of jirga members in maintaining peace in the area and ensured them full support of the government in resolving all their genuine issues. They also shared that the present jirga is the actual jirga of tribal people, which had the authority to identify genuine issues of tribal people and present it to the government for solution.

The chief minister and the governor assured the tribal elders that the government would address their genuine issues under the Constitution and respective laws.
