In this regard, a special seminar was conducted at Government Shuhada-e-APS Memorial Model Girls High School where District Education Authority CEO Basheer Zahid Goraya, SMU Team Leader Mohammad Abdul Malik and PFRD CEO Noorul Zaman Rafique spoke.
The speakers showed appreciation for the campaign and stressed on the fact that citizens from all walks of life can play a part in discouraging drug use among students.
Youth sensitized against drug abuse
The campaign was initiated on special directives from the Punjab chief minister. Initially, the awareness campaign was launched in five schools across Lahore. However, it will be gradually extended to all government and private institutions of Punjab.
During the seminar, it was strongly recommended that students engage in healthy activities such as sports, poster competitions and painting in order to discourage the use of drugs. The campaign will run for three days and will also consist of informative sessions, sports activities, art competitions and speech contests.
