Information Technology: Rahman says start-ups being assisted

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman said on Thursday that the government aims to assist start-ups. While addressing the graduation ceremony of the National Incubation Center’s (NIC) 1st cohort, Rahman praised the technological revolution and emphasised the government’s dream of a digital Pakistan. Investment is also being made in Balochistan which aims to give numerous villages 3G coverage. Briefing about the DigiSkills program, Rehman said that it would create online employment enabling the youth to earn hundreds of dollars. The NIC in Islamabad is set up through public-private partnership and is the largest incubation centre in Pakistan with 40 startups inducted each year.
