Hospitals get clean drinking water

Reverse osmosis, arsenic water filtration plants, water coolers and dispensers installed in all hospitals

LAHORE: The arrangements to provide clean drinking water for the patients and their attendants in the teaching hospitals and specialised healthcare institutions have been completed. This was stated by Provincial Minister for SHME Khawaja Salman Rafiq on Tuesday. Reverse osmosis, arsenic water filtration plants, water coolers and dispensers have also been installed in all the hospitals. All the heads of the institutions have furnished a certificate to the specialised healthcare and medical education department. All the heads of teaching hospitals informed the meeting about the latest situation and progress in the arrangements for the provision of clean drinking water, pathology, radiology facilities, hospital waste management and provision of medicines in the emergency department of the hospital. It was informed in the meeting that 100 per cent free medicine is being provided to the patients in the emergency department of the hospitals. Secretary Health Najam Ahmed Shah directed officials that local purchase system of medicine should be ensured.
