Robbery attempt: Rickshaw driver shot dead over resistance

Police have registered a murder case against the culprits and took the body into custody

FAISALABAD: A man was shot dead by robbers while resisting a robbery bid in Faisalabad on Thursday.

A police official told Express News that a rickshaw driver, identified as Javed Iqbal, was intercepted by three armed robbers riding a motorcycle near Jhang Bazaar area. They demanded cash and valuables from him at gunpoint. However, when he showed resistance, the outlaws opened fire on him and fled the scene.

Police have registered a murder case against the culprits and took the body into custody.

In another incident, a policeman and an outlaw were injured in a shoot-out near Dasuha Bridge.

Police said that a school teacher, Zubair, was on his way home on a motorcycle when two armed assailants intercepted him and looted cash and valuables.
