School of Leadership announces 17th Young Leaders Conference

Conference will be held between July 1 and July 6 in Lahore

The School of Leadership has announced that it will hold the 17th Young Leaders Conference (YLC) between July 1 and July 6 in Lahore.

The announcement was made by YLC Lead Azhar Hamza at a ceremony at Mövenpick Hotel, Karachi. The conference aims to expose youngsters to opportunities that can change their lives. "This year we have decided that it is time to channel energies, raise questions and shatter egos to come together [to] change the trajectory of this country," Hamza said.

The conference will be spread over six days and five nights. As many as 300 youngsters from rural and urban areas will participate and learn from 50 speakers including businesspersons, artists, and political and social activists.

The YLC will let the youth participants know about various future possibilities and will inculcate the sense of social responsibility in them through post-conference social projects.

Workshop held to train students in leadership skills

Speaking to the media, School of Leadership Chief Executive Officer Hammad Saeed said approximately 60% population of Pakistan comprised individuals who were under 30. Our challenge is to equip these young minds with the right skills, values and resources to ensure that they live up to their full potential, he said, adding that the School of Leadership has been playing its role in this regard since the last 16 years by organising youth conferences.

For better future: 15,000 school heads to get leadership training

The first three days of the conference will take place at a hotel in Lahore, whereas the last three days will be held in Chand Bagh.

"YLC aims to deliver the most during its six days, leading to a comprehensive and thorough learning journey," said School of Leadership Executive Director Maalik Khaskhely. He explained that the conference will cover various themes, including civic and political engagement, sustainable development, interfaith dialogue, business management and innovation, art and culture, and philanthropy.
