Final day: literature festival lives up to expectations

Poets and film directors dominate in interaction with youth

QUETTA: Panel discussion on filming, fine art exhibitions and book stalls continued to be the centre stage of attraction during the second and final day of the Quetta Literary Festival (QLF) being held at the Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITMS).

“Filmmakers, intellectuals, writers, artists and a large number of people are participating in the QLF with full zeal and fervor which will help present a positive and bright picture of Balochistan before the world,” said BUITMS Vice Chancellor Dr Farooq Bazai while addressing the participants on Tuesday.



VC Bazai said, “The QLF will pave the way for socioeconomic development and resolving gender equality issues in Balochistan.”

He said that poets, writers and journalists would groom the students’ mindset.

Veteran directors Jami, Jamal Shah, Zeba Bakhtiar and others participated in the panel discussion on filming.

A special segment on poetry was held where veteran poet Amjad Islam Amjad read out his poetry, while other local poets also shared their work in regional languages.

“The QLF will be a milestone and positively affect Balochistan’s future,” said poet Amjad. “After participating in the literature festival we have built strong relations with the youth.”
