KARACHI: I would like to draw the attention of the traffic management authorities of Karachi towards the critical issue of high-beam headlights of vehicles. Some car drivers use high-beam headlights of vehicles while driving, which create problems for other motorists.

Drivers of vehicles coming from the opposite side cannot see properly due to the high-beam lights of the vehicles coming from the opposite direction, which pose serious danger to both the drivers and often results in fatal accidents. It is necessary for all the drivers to use low intensity beam headlights while driving at night, so that those driving in the opposite lanes of roads can see without much difficulty and chances of accidents can be minimised.

The provincial government and the city traffic controlling authorities should arrange seminars and workshops to raise awareness about the issue. The media can play a pivotal role in this regard, by running awareness programmes on their channels.
