Speaking to The Express Tribune, he revealed that they have also established a dispensary, a mess and a canteen, and will also provide laundry and barber services free-of-cost. Currently, the construction of a swimming pool is in the pipeline, he added.
The dispensary is fully equipped with all the basic first aid facilities. In addition to the treatment of minor diseases, we are also providing officials with an ambulance service which will transport ailing wardens to the hospitals from any point within the city, he informed.
To provide our men with health sustenance, a key factor for the welfare and performance of the force, we have established a mess. The facility is run on a “no profit no loss” system; the wardens who avail the service bear the expenditure of the facility, he added.
In a similar fashion we have set up a canteen, where wardens can enjoy a cup of tea or a chilled beverage with their guests at any time. It is mandatory to ensure the welfare of the force to bring about a change in policing culture, the CTO stressed.
The gym and filtration plant were inaugurated few weeks ago by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains while chairing the graduation ceremony of a batch of assistant traffic wardens.
