Have we ever thought about the condition of our feathered friends outdoors?
KARACHI: We are in the midst of the summer of our discontent. Already some parts of the country are reeling under extreme heat. Temperatures have been fluctuating between 40 degrees Celsius and 48 degrees Celsius since late last month. We have fans and air conditioners in our homes to beat the heat.
Have we ever thought about the condition of our feathered friends outdoors? Their lives depend on the provision of water. Of late, this resource has become precious and even scarce.
We can alleviate the suffering of birds and other animals outside our houses or offices by leaving them a bowl or two of water. So they can quench their thirst. I have often seen people placing water outside in a container from where birds and animals can drink water. We all can follow this and it would be a good deed and also we will be helping our natural environment. These animals and birds are part of our life cycle.
