These health schemes have been completed at a total cost of Rs1.204 billion. Four mega projects have been completed at Rs246 million at DHQ Hospital Vehari, while another Rs958 million has been spent on expansion and renovation.
The chief minister also visited the pathology laboratory and the facility's various sections. He said that the management of the pathology lab has been handed over to North Shore Medical Labs in America.

The patients will pay a nominal token fee while the test fee will be paid by the Punjab government, he said, adding around 1,200 types of medical tests will be conducted at this hospital.
Shehbaz said new pathology labs are being set up in 26 DHQ hospitals of different districts by the Punjab government in collaboration with the private sector. The results of public sector hospitals' labs will be considered as authenticated, he said.
CT scan machines will work round-the-clock in government-run hospitals. The latest incinerators are being established in 26 DHQ hospitals to scientifically dispose of the hospitals' waste. Similarly, filter clinics have been established in DHQ hospitals.
A filter clinic was opened in Vehari two months ago and 1,434 screenings and vaccination of 1,666 others have been carried out till now.
