PESHAWAR: At least four people, including children, were injured when unidentified miscreants threw an explosive device at a house in the Beri Bagh area of Peshawar on Thursday.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, a police official from the Yakatot police station said that the house of a dry fruit dealer Liaquat had been targeted by unidentified attackers in which four people were injured, including children.

“The [business] owner is constantly receiving threats from extortionists who are demanding ‘donations’ from him,” the officer said, adding, “When he refused to pay them, his house was attacked.”

The cop went on to say that the injured had been rushed to the hospital for treatment while an FIR had been registered in the case. It is worth noting that extortion cases are on the decline in the city but they continue to give nightmares to business owners.
