Healthy food

Children across Pakistan do not have to grow up consuming adulterated food

KARACHI: We are students of Beaconhouse Clifton (Karachi) Campus and are writing this to bring the relevant authorities’ attention to the issue of food safety and sustainability. It seems that food is being produced in ways that are not natural with the use of GMOs and chemicals. This leads to health problems and we feel a dire need to change this. Children across Pakistan do not have to grow up consuming adulterated food. Instead of using food that is grown in ways that are harmful we should think about kitchen gardening and buying organically produced food.

Change can start within our homes and then be taken up at the societal level. Each of us must play his or her role to create a lasting change. We should also create awareness about food production that is not safe so people can save themselves from harmful things. Growing and consuming organic food help people stay healthy. This will also help people increase their own safety and that of their families. Also, we should work with the government to take strong action against irresponsible groups to prevent them from producing unsafe food.
