Bikers’ Safety: ITP kicks start drive for helmets

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Wednesday launched one-week awareness campaign for safety of motorcyclists and to ensure safe driving for them on roads through use of helmets and proper lights.
SSP (Traffic) Farrukh Rasheed said that purpose of this campaign is to ensure safety for bikers and prevent any mishap by educating them about use of helmets and safe road environment.
He said this education campaign will remain continue for seven days and special squads have been constituted to educate bike riders as how to ensure their safety before travelling on roads. These squads would perform duties at various main roads and brief the bikers and motorists about safe journey. The bikers riding without helmets and side mirrors or having defective indicators, headlights, rear lights and speed meters would be educated and appealed to get faulty parts repaired.
