Voter display centres deadline extended

Citizens can get the forms from ECP website

Provincial Election Commissioner of Balochistan Niaz Ahmed Baloch has said in order to facilitate the public with the voter list the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) delayed the due date from April 24 to April 30.

“Therefore by availing this opportunity anyone who has not registered themselves or checked their credentials for the election 2018, they may visit today (Monday, April 30) to their nearest display centre or provincial election commission office and register themselves.”

Citizens can get the forms from ECP website and provincial election officer. Rooms have been allotted for the concerned department and forms will be submitted with the copy of Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).

The commission has established 1,400 display centres across the province with 590 in Quetta where people can review their names in the voters’ lists for general elections 2018.

After the addition of new voters from various cities of Balochistan, the ECP has the complete details of voters in the province.

The number of voters in Awaran has reached 75,565, Barkhan 66,934 voters, Pishin 247,280, Panjgur 97,885, Jaffarabad 212,685, Jhal Magsi 58,249, Chagai 88,149, Khuzdar 222,987, Qilla Abdullah 227,213, Kalat 130,387, Gwadar 117,073, Kohlu 57,436 and Loralai 135,247.

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Director Electoral Rolls Wing Babar Malik earlier this month said that “There will be many women voters during 2018 elections in Balochistan as a large number of new women voters have been registered.”
