Balochistan Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moazzam Jah Ansari has said that the Rs3 billion Quetta Safe City project will prove effective in curbing terrorist activities as the province is the worst affected by militancy as compared to other provinces.
The provincial police chief stated this while addressing the media on Saturday.

The IGP said, “The Police Act 2018 has been prepared and sent to the Balochistan Assembly for approval.”
He said that the law enforcers were being trained on modern grounds in order to eradicate terrorism.
“Our forces are fighting valiantly against militants as Quetta is on their hit-list,” he added.
He said that 1,400 cameras would be installed under the Quetta Safe City project through which 261 highly-sensitive areas would be monitored.
Balochistan CM vows to upgrade police force
He said that recommendations had been sent to the provincial government for the upgradation and welfare of the “jawans”.
“The scarcity of law enforcement officers in the province has further undermined the efficiency of the police department,” said IGP Ansari, adding that the young officers would be recruited through provincial Public Service Commission in Quetta.
