The epicenter of the quake was at the depth of 200 kilometres in Hindu Kush mountain area of Afghanistan, Express News reported.
Tremors were felt in Chitral, Batkhela, Bunir, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Dir and Swabi districts among other areas of the province.
No loss of life or property has been reported after the earthquake.

At least two people were killed when a 6.1-magnitude quake jolted many parts of the country in January.
In Quetta, many buildings were reported to have cracks in their foundations. A minor girl, aged 1.5 months, died when the wall of a house fell in Balochistan’s Lasbela district. Sameena, daughter of Ali Akbar, was killed, while many others were injured.
In Swat Valley, a visitor in a local hotel had passed away due to a heart attack as a result of jolts in the building.
