Rehabilitation centre treats 40 patients

Capacity of 12-bed centres would be doubled due to increasing number of patients

The Drug Rehabilitation Centre at District Headquarters (DHQ) teaching hospital provided treatment facilities to 40 drug addicts, the Drug Committee was told on Friday. The capacity of 12-bed centres would be doubled due to increasing number of patients, deputy commissioner said while chairing a meeting of the drug committee. The meeting was told that in March 2018, 714 people were arrested over their involvement in drug-related crimes and 686 cases were registered. He said the PC-1 of Drug Rehabilitation Centre, New Satellite Town had been approved and its construction would start in next financial year. He appreciated the efforts of President Pakistan Medical Association.
