LAHORE: A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (P ML-N) member of Punjab Assembly has warned that a first information report (FIR) would be registered against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar if he or members of his family were harmed following withdrawal of security protocol on the top judge’s directives.

Despite instructions from Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan to sit down, Rana Jamil Hassan Khan of PML-N continued delivering his fiery speech on the house floor on Friday, saying he is receiving threatening calls by the same people who abducted him in 2014.

However, he and his family stand defenceless as all security personnel deployed to protect them had been called back to their station.

He said if he and his family members were harmed, the FIR will be registered against the chief justice who had passed the directives to inspector generals of the provinces to withdraw security of individuals not entitled to protection last week.

However, two days after passing the orders, the chief justice had directed the top provincial police officials to ensure the provision of security to all those who face 'genuine security threats'.

Speaking on point of order today, Rana Jamil said owing to the timely intervention of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif he was recovered from the six-month-long captivity four years ago. He said two of the abductors had been gunned down in an exchange of fire by the police while the rest were still at large.

The PML-N MPA left the assembly soon after the fiery speech, which took the house by surprise. Some lawmakers were also witnessed applauding the speech on a sensitive issue.

After being kidnapped along with his wife at gunpoint by six men on the Motorway near Sial Morr, Sargodha Interchange on June 1, 2014, the couple was recovered from an area near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in December, the same year.

Rana Jamil was elected to the Punjab Assembly from PP-174 (Nankana Sahib) in the 2013 general elections.

Muneer | 6 years ago | Reply People will file a FIR against Rana Jamil of PMLN for keeping government security personnel with him and depriving the general public of necessary state security as a result of which they are being daily kidnapped and killed by criminals and other powerful people like him.
Ismail Mirza | 6 years ago | Reply The hysterics of these parliamentarian crybabies make them all the more bulls eyes by going public with their feverish clamor for official security protocol. If they are so worried about their safety they are certainly wealthy enough to hire a squad or two from a private security firm !
