Textile sector top priority in budget
Approximately Rs50 billion was released by the government for the textile sector

Federal Commerce Minister Pervaiz Malik has emphasised that the textile value chain is the top most priority in the federal budget for 2018-19. Addressing an international conference on ‘Textiles and Clothing - Inspiring Change’, he said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would further contribute to Pakistan’s economic upsurge as the partnership had extended beyond energy and transportation sectors with textile sector being on top. Approximately Rs50 billion was released by the government for the textile sector during the current financial year and its exports increased by 7.17% compared to the last year.
