‘Student-run societies promote tolerance’

Seminar states aim behind establishing societies is to promote cultural, religious & ethnic harmony among students

LAHORE: A seminar on Strengthening Student Societies on University Campuses was held at the University of Education (UoE) on Tuesday.

Addressing the seminar, Vice Chancellor Dr Rauf-i-Azam stated that the basic aim behind establishing societies is to promote cultural, religious and ethnic harmony among students.

We can curb religious extremism by promoting literature, music arts and games. “For a peaceful Pakistan we have to encourage extra-curricular activities,” he stressed.
