Women’s empowerment

Letter April 25, 2018
It goes without saying that women have been fighting for their equal rights for ages

KARACHI: On Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media platforms, we see individuals upholding the cause of non-discriminatory behaviour towards the gender that makes up over half of the global population.

It goes without saying that women have been fighting for their equal rights for ages. To have the same basic rights that men have such as freedom of speech, freedom to vote and their right to equality at workplace. These battles have been hard fought, and there is still a long way to go.

Nowadays, we are witnessing women create the world they want to live in — not only by changing it, but also the way it works. Regardless of the strides that have been made so far, both men and women are entitled to perform certain roles and duties. One of which is to not let the struggle for women’s empowerment and the context of it being misconstrued and manipulated for negative reasons.
