PESHAWAR: Several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers whom the party's chief Imran Khan expelled last week have given the latter a 15-day deadline for the election rigging allegations to be withdrawn, failing which they would approach the top court.
On April 18, the party's supremo announced to initiate disciplinary proceedings against its 20 lawmakers in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly who allegedly ditched the party during last month’s Senate polls. These MPAs during an in-house investigation were found to be involved in horse-trading.
Addressing a presser at the residence of PTI lawmaker Qurban Ali Khan in Nowshera on Monday, the disgruntled members warned that Imran's failure to tender an apology within a fortnight would lead to them moving the court against the leadership.
They further said they would urge the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar to take a suo motu notice against the PTI chief.
According to MPA Qurban Ali Khan, Imran had staged a 'drama' of votes being sold out in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Rejecting Imran's support for the Senate chairman senate, Qurban said it was K-P's right which it was deprived of. “Imran chooses wrong ways to gain popularity; we can see he has a dark future dark in upcoming election," the MPA said. "Blaming others cannot make someone successful.” He added that the CM had saved his own people while targeting others.
Similarly, MPA Abdul Haq said he rejects the allegations leveled, announcing to resign from the chief minister Pervez Khattak's advisory inter provincial panel. He went on to add that the CM had staged the allegations against them.
MPA Yasin Khalil also said that the CM had accused lawmaker Ziaul Afridi of corruption while he was innocent. He accused the leadership of selling four tickets and seeking Rs400million to 500 for each.
He also accused Khattak of initiating the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) to amass money for the forthcoming elections.
Wajiuz Zaman was accompanied his fellow lawmakers on the occasion.
