SHABQADAR: The Pakistan Zindabad movement on Sunday staged rallies and a public gathering in Mohmand Agency to voice their support for the military.

The rallies, in Ghallanai, the headquarters of Mohmand Agency, was attended by all tribes of the area.

The rallies started from sub-divisional headquarters of Ekka Ghund, Bahai Dag and Safi. The participants held aloft Pakistani flags and chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Pakistan army Zindabad’ slogans. All the rallies converged in Ghallanai where tribal elders leading each of the rallies addressed the resulting gathering.

Among those addressing the crowd, MNA Bilal Rehman, Senator Abdur Rehman, Malik Fayaz Khwaizai, Sultan Atmar Khel and others praised the role of the army in restoring peace in the agency.

They pledged their support to the army and to restore peace and development in the entire agency.

MNA Rehman recalled the time when militancy plagued the entire tribal belt. It was at that time, he said, that the army launched military operations against the terrorist and cleared Fata of all kinds of terrorism.

“Today, after the restoration of peace in the agency, the army is playing a vital role in the development of Fata in general and Mohmand Agency in particular,” the lawmaker said, adding that after the restoration of peace, some evil forces were trying to sabotage the peace of the region.

“We, the residents of Mohmand, will not let anyone sabotage the peaceful environment of the agency,” he vowed.  Fayaz, who has led peace committees in past, said that residents of the agency and security forces had rendered immense sacrifices for restoring peace in the agency.
