News of Meesha Shafi publicly accusing Ali Zafar of sexually harassing her has spread across the country like wildfire. Women from all parts of Pakistan are now coming forward to share how they, too, haven't been spared by the Channo singer.

Hollywood has also taken notice of Meesha's case as #MeToo has initiated in Pakistan. Rose McGowan, #MeToo campaigner and one of the first to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment, has lent her support to the Aya Lariye singer.

Rose tweeted, "A heroine for our times. I stand with Meesha Shafi."

Meesha, indirectly, also thanked the Hollywood actor for supporting her.

With the huge amount of women that accused Harvey of sexual harassment, could Pakistan celebrities be experiencing a revolution as well?

Hareem Mehar | 6 years ago | Reply What 'proof' do you expect, a video of the act? There is no DNA type 'hard evidence' either in cases like that. Remember how Larry Nassar got convicted? For a woman, it takes great courage to come forward in cases like that at a great risk to herself for fear of reprisals and unjust criticism, like here. So kudos to Meesha Shafi. JA | 6 years ago | Reply Not every thing being reported under #MeToo campaign seems genuine, many cases may be the results of personal vendetta or misunderstanding. In Meesha Shafi case while some more women have reported abuse, but those who are allying with Ali are many more and some of them are those who are witness to the event
