Facto Group purchases a property from Adam Sugar Mills in 2015

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested Darya Khan Assistant Commissioner Sajid Safdar, for embezzling Rs14.01 million, on Saturday. The Facto Group had purchased a property from Adam Sugar Mills in 2015. The former, in collusion with the AC and former Sub Registrar, had embezzled Rs14.01 after reporting a lower number for the property, causing a substantial loss to the national exchequer. ACE Director Asim Raza had constituted a 4-member investigation team to conduct an inquiry. The team consisted of Deputy Director (Investigation) Uroojul Hassan, Deputy Director (Legal) Gul Muhammad Raan, Assistant Director Muhammad Khurram Anwaar and Circle Officer Asmatullah Bandial. During the inquiry, the AC along with the sub registrar was proven guilty of transferring the money for the Facto Group’s benefit. The team, headed by Circle Officer Asmatullah Bandial conducted a raid and arrested Safdar, who has been shifted to Sargodha District Jail.
