Two prisoners escape from Civil Hospital

The under-treatment prisoners were helped by unidentified personnel: police.

KARACHI: Two prisoners escaped from the Civil Hospital with the help of unidentified personnel on Sunday, said the police.

City Town SP Saqib Sultan said that the incident occurred when three out of the four deployed police personnel went out for breakfast, leaving just one officer behind. The suspects took advantage of the situation and held the lone officer hostage to flee their partners.

The prisoners were detained on murder charges and were under treatment in the hospital.

Four police personnel were suspended for gross negligence in the case.
