Ruining our seas

Letter April 21, 2018
Our marine life is important and we should try to keep our sea free of pollution

KARACHI: Beaches covered with plastic wastes are not a rare scene these days, whereas spilling of oil from tankers and other things are also contributing to water pollution. In addition to this, restaurants located near the sea are also contributing to water pollution in the form of disposing garbage into the sea. Because of this, large patches of garbage are floating on the sea and also large dumps of garbage is gathered on the sea shores, giving rise to an insufferable foul smell. On top of that, the heaps of garbage breed mosquitoes which cause various dangerous diseases.

Owing to all the above-mentioned issues, not just scenic beauty of the sea is getting affected but these issues are also contributing to a numerous numbers of issues, mainly water pollution. The authorities concerned must act without any further loss to set things right.

Our marine life is important and we should try to keep our sea free of pollution of all kinds.
