Talking regarding the delaying of justice in the courts, he added he has even decided cases in the SC that date back to his date of birth (1954) and multiple cases still exist that were filed decades ago in 1985.

“But I’m unable to explain to the complainants why I have delayed the justice for so long,” he told lawyers. “It is my fault. It is the fault of this system; we all are responsible for it and we all have to correct the system,” he added.

“Our judiciary has to deliver, the time to do that is now. If we couldn’t deliver the country will not be able to achieve what it wants,” the chief justice remarked. The CJP, while explaining his efforts as chief justice, said that he is struggling just to ensure the fundamental rights of the masses. He added that all suo motu notices taken are for violations of basic rights of Pakistani citizens.

He also asked the lawyers for their support to ensure the public their rights to public and remove the public miseries. “I am always ready to struggle to provide you yours fundamental rights. if here someone inform me about his rights violation, I will set my court here and will provide him justice.”

The CJP also praised the construction of the new judicial complex in Charsadda and said that it is one of the best judicial complexes in the world. He appreciated the efforts of the Chief Justice Peshawar high Court Yahya Afridi for his efforts towards the constructithe on of judicial complex. However, he added that a building is just a structure, the people in it make the institution.
