Ministry of Climate Change enters into second phase

ISLAMABAD: Plantation drive under the title “Ghar Ghar Aik Shajar” or tree in every house launched by the Ministry of Climate Change has entered into second phase during which 80,000 saplings have been distributed in federal capital in order to increase green cover of the city. According to an official of the Ministry of Climate Change on Thursday, the ministry had distributed 10,000 saplings during the first phase in the federal capital. He said that 18 million saplings had been planted throughout the country under this programme so far while 8,000 saplings had so far been distributed door to door in the federal capital under this Programme during the second phase. Ministry of Climate Change was fully committed to bringing the forest cover areas at as per with international standard, he added. As many as 5,000 saplings had also been distributed among students of various educational institutions in federal capital in another tree plantation drive, he added.
