Cry, the beloved country!

Pakistan is currently beset by increased political unpredictability

KARACHI: Pakistan is currently beset by increased political unpredictability. This has been brought about by several reasons, including the absence of a stable democratic system, economic problems and a lack of socio-economic growth. These problems arise from a lack of mature leadership, confrontation between main institutions of the state, pathetic relations between the centre and the provinces, rampant corruption, lack of trust among politicians, governance crisis and a strong bureaucratic setup. As if all this wasn’t enough, the country is also plagued with other menaces such as terrorism, energy crisis, domestic violence, unemployment and economic instability.

What is worse is that no one seems practically interested to drag the economy and the country out of this mess. Pakistani technocrats sit like pitiable entities as they go through their check list to urgently find the technical solution for deeply-rooted political issues that is of no use.
