District election commission sets up 235 display centres
These centres will also remain open on Sunday to enlist voters

The District Election Commission office has set up 235 display centres in the district to facilitate masses regarding new entry, objections and correction of votes.
District Election Commissioner Assadullah Atiq said on Saturday people could visit to the centres setup at different educational institutions for verification and correction of votes adding that centres would be operational till April 24. The election officer said people could also check votes’ details after messaging their identity card numbers on 8300. The display centres would also remain open on Sunday to enlist voters, he added. He urged the masses to visit nearest facilitation centers for correction of votes so that right of vote could be used in 2018 general election.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tariq Khan Niazi has directed the revenue officers of the district to meet 100% recovery target of agriculture tax and other government dues.
Chairing a meeting on Saturday, he directed the assistant commissioners (ACs) of all tehsils and officials of the Land Record Computerisation to achieve the target as early as possible.
The meeting was told that 85% recoveries in different heads had also been completed in the different tehsils of the district. The ADC also directed the officials concerned to expedite the pace of land record computerisation and complete remaining areas where land record could not be computerised so far. The meeting also reviewed the wheat purchase process and issued directions to complete home work in this regard.
