Holding cities hostage

Letter April 14, 2018
How long will the government keep allowing people to create havoc on streets?

The twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and other adjoining cities were once again caught in between blockages as protests were held against the government over its failure of implementing the negotiated agreement between the TLP and Punjab government last year. The brokered peace lasted only for a few months, before the TLP and its followers took to the streets once again.

Though the government has now accepted the demands and the protest has been called off, it is pertinent to note that once again a group of people were able to disrupt normalcy among cities while the government patiently waited till the nth minute only to accept the demands put forward. How long will the government keep allowing people to create havoc on streets?
